Where is Turkey Located

Turkey is a fascinating country situated in a unique geographical position, stretching between Eastern Europe and Western Asia: its transcontinental location grants it extraordinary cultural and historical richness. It shares borders with several countries, including Greece to the west, Bulgaria to the northwest, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran to the east, Iraq to the southeast and Syria to the south. Additionally, it boasts an extensive coastline along the Mediterranean Sea to the south and the Black Sea to the north.

Turkey’s major cities include Ankara, the capital situated in central Anatolia, Istanbul, the largest and culturally most significant, uniquely positioned between Europe and Asia, Izmir, a major port city on the western coast, Adana, located in the south of the country and important for agriculture and industry, and Antalya, a coastal city on the Turkish Riviera, renowned for tourism. These cities represent only a fraction of Turkey’s diversity and beauty, with countless other regions and cities waiting to be explored, each with its own distinct culture, history and unique attractions.
